The City of White House is seeking a highly experienced, collaborative, and results-oriented municipal executive to serve as its next City Administrator. As the City’s chief administrative officer, the City Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day management and operations of municipal government, ensuring alignment with policies established by the Board of Mayor and Aldermen and all applicable laws. Working in close partnership with the Mayor and Board, the City Administrator provides overall organizational leadership while ensuring that services are delivered efficiently, effectively, and in support of the community’s long-term vision.

Major Duties & Responsibilities
Leadership & Administration
Serve as the primary operational leader of the City organization. Direct and coordinate all municipal operations and departmental activities. Provide policy recommendations and strategic guidance to the Board. Support the development and implementation of long-range goals and initiatives. Employ, promote, discipline, suspend, and discharge employees and department heads in accordance with Board-approved personnel policies.
Financial Management & Stewardship
Prepare and submit the annual budget and capital program to the Board. Act as purchasing agent for the municipality in accordance with Board policies. Evaluate departmental funding needs and ensure sound fiscal practices. Leverage property tax, sales tax, and impact fee revenues to support strategic investment.
Infrastructure & Capital Projects
Recommend priority programs and projects involving public works and public improvements. Oversee the City's infrastructure assets including roads, the municipal asphalt plant, sewer systems, and stormwater. Ensure projects are properly planned, funded, and executed in alignment with the City's growth trajectory.
Organizational Leadership & Team Development
Lead and support a fully staffed team of department heads across police, fire, parks, public services, wastewater, planning, and library. Establish performance expectations and accountability standards. Foster a culture of professionalism, responsiveness, and continuous improvement.
Community Engagement & Service Responsiveness
Log and track all service requests from the Board and citizens. Ensure requests are routed within 24 hours to the appropriate department and resolved in a timely manner. Maintain regular communication with residents, businesses, and community stakeholders.
Intergovernmental & External Relations
Build and maintain relationships with state and county agencies, regional partners, utility districts, and neighboring municipalities. Represent the City in intergovernmental matters and advocate for White House's interests at the state and regional level.

Provides honest counsel to elected officials, keeps the Board fully informed, and ensures that all service requests from residents are tracked and resolved efficiently. Salary
The hiring range is $160,000 to $170,000.
