As City Secretary/Assistant to the City Manager, you will be helping to write the history of the City and make your mark on its story.
This two-for-one opportunity will help you develop in both positions so that you can perform administrative and procedural duties with world class ability and give you opportunities to get into the weeds in many local government departments, honing your knowledge and skills as a public administrator.

Being the Assistant to the City Manager, turns you into a ninja problem solver while you work and explore the research needs of the City Manager’s Office as well as serving as a go-between to City departments by assisting and troubleshooting the City’s operational needs. And we want you to take care of yourself and your family so will start you from day one with a bank of five (5) vacation days if you are selected for this position. You will accrue an additional 10 days of vacation in your first year.
Qualifications:
- Minimum associates degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public administration, business administration, records management or a related field minimum, combination of education/experience will be considered; BA/BS degree preferred.
- Four (4) years of increasingly responsible administrative experience, including one year of administrative or lead supervisory responsibility
- Possession of the Texas Registered Municipal Clerk Certificate from the Texas Municipal Clerks Association required or the ability to earn it within 36 months
- Valid Texas Class C Driver's License - driving record must be in compliance with City policy
