Expected Hiring Range: $120,000–$130,000 (DOQ)
The City of Tomah seeks an experienced, collaborative, and visionary leader to serve as its next City Administrator. The ideal candidate will be an approachable, relationship-driven executive with strong financial acumen and organizational leadership skills who can effectively implement the Mayor and Common Council’s priorities while ensuring efficient, fiscally responsible municipal operations. This individual will be a visible and trusted leader who builds strong relationships with elected officials, employees, businesses, residents, and regional partners through integrity, accessibility, open communication, and responsive leadership.
The City Administrator serves as the City’s chief administrative officer, providing executive leadership for all municipal operations while implementing the policies and priorities established by the Mayor and Common Council. Working collaboratively with elected officials, department heads, employees, businesses, residents, and regional partners, the Administrator ensures the efficient, effective, and fiscally responsible delivery of City services while fostering organizational excellence, innovation, and exceptional customer service.
The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in municipal administration, financial management, strategic planning, economic development, organizational leadership, and intergovernmental collaboration. They will foster a positive workplace culture by supporting employee development, promoting accountability and continuous improvement, and bringing people together to solve challenges, strengthen the City’s financial sustainability, advance responsible growth, and enhance Tomah’s exceptional quality of life.

Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Public Administration or a related field is preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Political Science, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible upper-level management or municipal leadership experience.
- Demonstrated experience in financial management, budgeting, capital improvement planning, economic development, organizational leadership, personnel administration, labor relations, and intergovernmental collaboration.
- Valid Wisconsin driver’s license.
