The Director of Development Services serves as a key advisor to the County Manager and oversees 96 FTEs in the functional areas of Planning; Building, Permitting, and Zoning; Development Review Engineering; and Code Enforcement.
The Director provides strategic leadership and administrative oversight to advance policies and programs that support well-planned growth and community development. Requirements include a master’s degree in Public Administration, Planning, Engineering, or Business Administration, and ten (10) years of experience; a comparable amount of education, training, or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications. An AICP Certification or a Florida Professional Engineer’s (PE) license is preferred. Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License.
The starting salary is dependent on qualifications and is accompanied by a competitive benefits package. Florida does not have a state income tax.
