The Monroeville Police Department seeks an experienced 21st Century Leader, to serve as a Commander to assist in leading daily operations, personnel management, and strategic initiatives. As second-in-command, this role ensures effective law enforcement services, oversees either Field Operations and/or Administration and Support Services, and assumes command in the Chief’s absence.
Key Responsibilities:
✔ Leadership & Operations – Manage personnel, resources, and department initiatives.
✔ Personnel & Budget Oversight – Supervise officers, enforce policies, and assist with budgeting.
✔ Community Engagement – Foster trust with residents and elected officials.
✔ Emergency Response – Lead during critical incidents and crises.
Qualifications:
✔ 10+ years of law enforcement experience (5+ in leadership).
✔ A bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, public administration, or a related field is preferred; however, an equivalent combination of education, training, and significant law enforcement experience may be considered.
✔ Completing an executive leadership program (FBI National Academy, SPI, Northwestern SPSC, etc.).
✔ Act 120 Certification (or equivalent).
✔ The SALARY RANGE: $140,000-$150,000 based on qualifications and professional experienc
