In this role, you will:
- Positively influence the look, pace, and pfuture of Pflugerville through smart land use, code guidance, and strategic development.

- Protect integrity by championing transparency, consistency, and pfairness across planning, zoning, and development proposals.

- Promote teamwork inside and outside the department and organization, building strong partnerships across engineering, economic development, and community services.
- Participate in shaping policy with executive leadership, contributing your voice to long-range strategy and capital improvement planning.
Pflugerville is looking for a Planning & Development Services Director who brings both professional polish and a passion for public service. This role is best suited for someone who leads with integrity, inspires their team, and thrives in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning or related pfield
- 10 years of progressively responsible experience in planning, development, or code administration
- 5 years of supervisory or management experience
- AICP certification
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with development regulations, long-range planning, and customer-facing processes
- Ability to lead teams, manage projects, and collaborate across departments
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- Experience in a high-growth city or rapidly developing region
- Track record of successful staff development and team building
- Pfamiliarity with Texas land use law and annexation procedures
- Demonstrated success navigating complex political or stakeholder environments
- Strategic mindset with comfort presenting to councils, boards, and community groups
